Edit: Support did respond to my message through email, allowing me to actually claim my prize. They sounded sincere in their message and I dont blame them fully for what happened. As they stated below, they were overwhelmed and I don’t doubt it. Since their response, I have placed the order for my item. Once received, I will edit again about the quality :)

I played this throughout the Alpha and Beta stages and, during that time, everything was free. Of course you wouldn’t actually win anything, but it was still fun to just play. However, upon the actual release, it seemed as if support just went downhill. I, in particular, was going for a figurine after I’d spent about $10 on gems. The machine grabbed my prize and the way it landed it fell right out the front if the machine. I took screenshots and immediately sent an email to support, showing the exact time stamp when it happened, asking if I was still eligible to receive the prize or if I could have a refund and got absolutely nothing in return for WEEKS. Fast forward to a post I made on the forums STILL no one got back to me. That was back in December and I still haven't gotten any contact from support regarding anything related to the issue.

We are sorry for the slowness of our support. As you pointed out, we need to improve our support quality. In the meantime, we have pinged our support team to locate your ticket.

We were especially overwhelmed during the beta and the release. We are still a young service and we will only get better from now on! Please check back again! 🤗

Tokyo Catch is probably the worst crane game app I have ever used and it is far worst that in-person cranes at arcades. I bought a bunch of gems to try and win a limited time Akuza figure because I really like Demon Slayer. After about 6 tries I maneuvered the box into a very good position and only needed one more play to win the box when there was a malfunction and I got kicked out of line!

Since I got the box into a good position there were a lot of people who got in line behind me to try to snipe my hard work. When the game malfunctioned and kicked me out of line, the next person in line won the figure on the next turn even though I had plenty of gems left and did not cancel my place in line. I was very frustrated and all that the Tokyo Catch team was willing to offer in return were the gems back for the plays I used on the figure, which is not sufficient because 1) by the time they gave me the gems back the figure was no longer in stock and 2) it would likely take me more time and gems to win the figure that I had already put so much work into winning. I didn’t want my money back (because I already spent more money than the figures were worth), I just wanted the prize I rightfully won if not for Tokyo Catch’s bad coding and malfunctions. Not even the share video function works on the app!

Long story short, this app and company are a big waste of time. Don’t bother downloading unless you want to be scammed out of your money.

(REMINDER TO ALWAYS RECORD YOUR GAMES) I found this app/game from its sister company. I was like hey that’s cool. I tried it and spent around $10 trying to figure out what was going on. Once I got the hang of it it was pretty fun and got a lot of cool stuff. The thing is, prices went up. Instead of $3 dollar plays it was now $6 plays. ($ to gems) so that was kind of annoying but I decided to just play a bit more sparingly. Suddenly there was an influx of what people are calling “Snipers” or people who wait for you to leave your game to finish off the prize. This is kind of mean but it’s part of the game, it makes sense. What doesn’t help is the janky app. You’ll sometimes be kicked out because of a failed timer and lose your prize. I’ve lost over probably $100 on mistakes from the app. Disputing is good when the app messes up but if you don’t have a recording, they’ll basically just say “Oopsie whoopsies! sorry you lost your money but we are not legally bounded to help you!” So it’s super infuriating, borderline theft. So my recommendation, don’t get this app. You’ll have to spend around $60 per prize if you are the first person to play the crane, but you cannot leave your game for ANYTHING. Someone will steal your prize. If you don’t want to spend $60+ Sadly, you’ll have to prey on other clueless players. Not cool though.
